South Tyneside is committed to teaching the young people in the area to swim in line with the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) National Plan for Teaching Swimming (NPTS).

The national syllabus provides a clear pathway for your child to progress and become increasingly competent, confident and safe in the water.

The programmes we provide start with the beginners preschool session and run up to stage 7.

Swimming lessons run for terms either 14, 12, or 11 weeks.

The lessons are 30 minutes each and are held throughout the week at various times for the various stages.

Stage 1

Stage 4
