Jarrow Community Pool

Are you swimming with a child?

Children under the age of 8 must be supervised at all times by a person 16 years or older, who is responsible and competent enough to ensure the safety and wellbeing of any child in their care.

Our adult to child swimming ratios are:

  • Children aged 0 to 4 years - 1 adult : 1 child
  • Children aged 5 to 7 years - 1 adult : 2 children
  • Children aged 8 years + - No supervision needed

Our facilities

Jarrow Community Pool has a 25 metre, four lane pool with suitable water depths for competitive swimmers' dive starts. The pool also has a moveable floor, meaning the depth of the water can be adjusted to cater for varying age groups and abilities.

Schools have use of the pool during school hours in term-time. Outside of these hours the pool is available for public use, swimming lessons and regular bookings from swimming clubs, as well as community groups such as Scouts and Guides.
