Pay your council tax online
Stop worrying about going to pay for your Council Tax, and reminder letters if you don't pay on time, by paying by Direct Debit.
With Direct Debit, select one of the following dates and let your bank do the hard work;
1st, 11th, 15th, 21st, or 28th
Weekly (each Friday)
Your Council Tax is payable in monthly instalments in accordance with your bill.
It's really simple to set up. You can complete our enquiry form below if you would like someone to call you back to set up a direct debit on your account:

Or you can complete the Direct debit form114.65KB and send it back to us.
Please note there is no need to cancel your Direct Debit when your Council Tax charge has been paid in full. The Direct Debit will automatically resume when the new Financial Year starts.
Payment by cash can be made at any Post Office or any retail outlet displaying the PayPoint logo. Payments by this method may take up to 4 working days to be credited to your account.
Cheques should be made payable to "South Tyneside Council", and sent to South Tyneside Council, Hawthorne Building, Rolling Mill Road, Viking Industrial Estate, Jarrow, NE32 3DP.
