Structures over the highway

If you want permission to place a temporary or permanent structure over the highway you must apply to South Tyneside Council.

For more information, contact Highways Maintenance on 0191 427 2553.

Eligibility criteria

Any temporary or permanent structure over the highway needs permission.

If you have any doubts about whether you will need permission, contact Highways Maintenance on 0191 427 2553 or email highways@southtyneside.gov.uk
