Report a missed bin collection

Let us know by the end of the next working day after your bin was due to be collected.

We will arrange to empty the reported bin as soon as possible after we have received your form.

We are sorry if we have accidentally missed your household, recycling or garden waste collections.

If you are unsure of your bin collection date, go to bin collection dates.

Things to check before reporting a missed bin collection

Have a look at our below checklist before reporting a missed bin collection:

  • the Council empty wheeled bins once a week on a fortnightly cycle (one week waste, one week recycling)
  • to avoid us missing wheeled bins make sure they are in your back lane, footpath or on the edge of your property in an obvious place, so our crews can find wheeled bins easy
  • wheeled bins must be placed outside by 7.30am on collection day
  • make sure that you have the correct colour out on the correct collection day
  • we have introduced a new recycling system where our collection crew will attach a tag to the handle of your blue recycling bin if incorrect items are found inside
  • we may also empty your blue recycling bin at a different time to your inner caddy, on the same day. This is to ensure that the paper is collected separately, without mixing it with the other material

Please remember:

  • the Council empties your wheelie bin once a week on an alternate weekly cycle (one week waste, one week recycling)
  • you need to put your bin out for collection by 7.30am on your collection day
  • please leave the bin at the edge of your property where our vehicle can get to it

What to expect once you've reported a missed collection

We will arrange to empty the reported bin as soon as possible after we have received your form.
