Bede's Well via St Paul's Monastery (walking for wellbeing)

From Jarrow Focus Library, we will walk down to Jarrow Hall. From here, our route will follow the River Don as we pass St Paul's Monastery, Jarrow Bridge and Jarrow Cemetery. From here, quiet paths will take us across to the beautiful Campbell Park where we will visit the site of Bede's Well. The return to Jarrow Focus will be via West Park. This is a lovely walk in the summertime and there is usually a large variety of wildfowl to see on the river.

• Terrain: Mostly good footpaths (concrete or tarmac) but some of the paths near the Jarrow Bridge and at Bede's Well can be muddy after wet weather.  
• Steps: There are a few short sets of steps along this route.
• Wheelchair accessible: No
• Toilets: There are toilets at Jarrow Focus. However, there are no public toilets along the walk.

Public transport to Jarrow

Both the Jarrow Metro and bus stations are about an 8 minute walk from the library.

There is a bus stop outside Morrisons (close to Jarrow Focus) for services 10, 11 and 26.
