The Dark Months is a fast moving thriller mainly set in north east England. When Pauline takes pity on a dishevelled stranger, she's just being a good Samaritan. Despite Pauline's efforts to regain normality, her good turn sucks her into a deadly world of clandestine agents and terrible secrets.
