The hugely popular South Tyneside Summer Parade returns on Saturday 6 July as part of a weekend of celebrations!

Be amazed by colourful costumes, dances and music as the parade makes its way from South Shields Town Hall to Bents Park at the seafront.

The theme of this year's Summer Parade is 'Celebration' which will celebrate and promote connectivity, inclusivity and diversity in all its forms. The parade is delivered in partnership with The Cultural Spring and Out North East, a new inclusive LGBTQ+ events charity.

The parade will begin at 1pm from South Shields Town Hall with fabulous local groups, performers and entertainers making their way to Bents Park where you can enjoy lots more entertainment! The afternoon will end with live music from King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys in the park.

We look forward to welcoming local community groups, schools and voluntary organisations in South Tyneside to be part of the celebrations.

So come along and experience what is always a great, family-friendly afternoon in South Shields!

The free entertainment will continue over the weekend with an afternoon of music and entertainment along Sandhaven Promenade on Sunday 7 July, from 12noon-3pm. Find out more about our Entertainment by the Sea Programme. We also have Proms in the Park taking place in Bents Parks on Sunday 7 July from 3-5pm featuring classical and contemporary music.

Please note filming and photography will take place at the event by South Tyneside Council, partners and the media. This could be used to showcase this year's events in various media channels, or be used to promote future events.

This event is part of our Parade weekend celebration which is funded and supported by Arts Council England. This event is also brought to you by South Tyneside Council as part of This is South Tyneside Festival summer programme. The programme is supported by Hits Radio, Greatest Hits Radio and sponsored by Colmans Seafood Temple, Colmans Fish and Chips, Minchella & Co, Ocean Beach Pleasure Park, Port of Tyne and Ramside Hall.
