As per current Government guidance, parks and open spaces will remain open for public use throughout the current crisis.
A key reason for this is to promote health and wellbeing, providing nearby residents with somewhere safe to exercise whilst safely adhering to social distancing guidelines.
It is therefore important that grounds maintenance tasks continue to be carried out to enable these areas to remain safe, clean and litter free during this time.
As such, we are working with our various grounds maintenance contractors, who have assured us that they can continue to deliver services safely, while strictly observing strict social distancing rules.
As a result of restrictions on how the works are delivered, there may be an effect on the actual programme of works that the contractors are able to complete.
The Council will continue to review Government advice on essential works and will monitor how these services are delivered by our contractors.
