The carers grant scheme
The carers grant is a scheme where a person or their carer can apply for financial support to allow the carer to have a break from their caring role.
For example, holidays for both the carer and the person being cared for can be financially supported. This means that the cared for person can receive care whilst on holiday. This also allows the carer to take a break of their own - easing their care role.
To apply for financial support from the carers grant an application can be made to the carers panel for approval. No community care assessment is needed to access the carers grant.
