Sahara Project

A family taking a walk in the parkSouth Tyneside also works with the Sahara Adoption and Fostering project, a specialist group supported by 12 local authorities across the North East region set up to help recruit and support black and minority ethnic foster carers.

The Sahara project team has both black and white staff, who can speak in Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi and any other languages using an interpreter. Their experienced professionals can help break down barriers that face BME communities.
